#81 An old joke
First Comic Previous Comic Next Comic Today's Comic
Looking Back:
I've always liked this strip a lot. It's fairly simple, funny, and looks very good for something made in MS Paint. Nothing ruins a good exit like going through the wrong door, especially when that door is a dead end. Then you've got to go back through the door, into the place you've already left, and do your whole exit over again with everyone thinking how much of an idiot you are for screwing it up the first time. I call it an old joke in the strip's title (which it very well could be) but if it is an old joke I can't seem to remember where I've seen it before (although I'm pretty sure I have). This is also the strip where Xain's poor sense of direction starts to really get established. Considering that he had just entered the lab about 20 minutes ago he really should remember where he came in, or at very least recognize that that's the wrong door. But, compared to some of Xain's later direction based screw ups, mistaking a broom closet for the exit really isn't all that bad. I mean, at least he managed to find a door.
