| Looking Back: KO'd is short for Knocked Out. From a game design perspective, allowing KO'd pokémon to use HM moves is essential to ensure the player doesn't get permanently stuck somewhere (on an island, for example) because they lost a critical pokémon and ran out of revives. Logically though, it really doesn't make any sense. They'd have to be sleep walking (or sleep swimming, or sleep flying) for that to work. Which, if you think about it, is kinda scary. |
