Looking Back:
There's a few things I don't like about the composition of this strip, which I go on to fix later in the comic. First off, with all those trees, there just isn't enough ground to give the pokémon much room to move during the battle. Which is one of the reasons why, later on, I tend to have a lot more ground and a bit less sky in my panels. Secondly, the pokémons' speech is rather hard to read since, due to its small size and lack of text bubbles, it can easily blur with the background. I experimented with a few different ways of handling that before eventually settling on a thin outline around the letters, which works pretty well in most cases.




Pokemon and all related images and trademarks are copyrighted by Nintendo, one of my favorite games companies who would certainly never waste their time by trying to sue me. Especially since I'm protected under the Fair Use Rule of the United States Copyright Act of 1976. Aside from that the actual site content is copyrighted by me, Josiah Lebowitz 2003.
