#140 It's a plot device!

Looking Back:
This is one of the rare PV strips that breaks the 4th wall a little. It's natural that not many people would recognize mew, since it's a one of a kind legendary pokémon that's only seen very rarely. Since the pokédex supposedly makes up all its entries on the fly (which makes no logical sense what-so-ever but that's the way it is in the games), it should be able to tell them something about mew. But that'd give away some plot elements a bit early. And this type of thing is typical of video games where certain things are unexplicably blocked off until you get far enough into the story (though it's usually not quite so blatant...usually).
