Brendan makes a good point here. Gym leaders are supposed to be these super awesome "best of the best" type trainers. However, their main job seems to be losing to whatever trainers show up to get badges. They're a bit more impressive in the anime, but it's the Pokémon Adventures manga where they really live up to their reputation, to the point when gym badges are rare and valuable. They also have a lot of duties other than fighting assorted trainers, such as teaching new trainers and protecting their area of the region from criminals, dangerous pokémon, and the like. Are they going to be like that in Pebble Version? Probably not. |
