Looking Back:
It's often a bit of a surprise in the Pokémon games when someone other than you uses a healing item. You can go through giant stacks of potions, revives, and the like in any given battle but apparently the rest of the pokémon world never really got the concept of healing items. Gym leaders and the Elite Four are the real exception to the no healing items rule. They each get two items (usually the strongest available healing item at that point in the game). Even then though, that's two items compared to the hundreds you could be carrying, and not even they use revives. From a gameplay perspective, it makes sense, but it does make the trainers seem rather dumb. |
