| Looking Back: In the games, there are a few moves that allow you to completely nullify the next attack, detect being one of them. Though, those moves become increasingly unreliable the more times you use them in a row, and they take up your whole turn, so their usefulness is fairly limited. But yeah, considering that pokémon trainers generally have to yell out their attacks and battle strategies all the time, the ability to predict what your opponent will do next isn't actually all that useful. |
