Looking Back:
The size of the sprites here is a bit weird. Namely, the characters look a bit small when compared to the pier and the water. Well, that's intentional. See, I shrunk the character sprites down to a smaller scale for this scene because, at their normal size, Mr. Briney's boat barely looks large enough for a one-man paddle boat, much less a full on boat capable of carrying a whole group. That's how it is in the games, but they tend to play pretty loosely with scale and it makes for some rather weird scenes. Rather than making a joke about it (though there are some of those later), I decided to try and make things look more reasonable. And they do, for the most part. |
