I still hadn't standardized the naming for pokédex strips at this point. Anyway, that water / ground type combination does make marshtomp immune to electricity, which is pretty useful, but it also means ice and water deal normal damage instead of being resisted, and it leaves marshtomp with a quadruple weakness to grass, which isn't so good when your rival uses a grass type. Double damage is bad enough, but the mudkip line vs. the treeko line is probably the worse starter mismatch in the series.
