Looking Back:
This is actually the next to last strip to use this level of zoom outside of motion blurs (the last is 261). The reason I stopped using it should be fairly obvious. The sprites just take up way too much of the panel. There's barely enough room for Brendan and May. Adding a third character makes it really tight and doesn't really leave any space to show off their surroundings. Yeah, I can show a bit more detail at this level, but it's not like these sprites are all that detailed to begin with. Honestly, if I was redoing the comic, I'd change all these zoom in strips to the standard view. |
