Looking Back:
Actually May is a little off, the exact number of pokémon in the Ruby/Sapphire pokédex is 386. Of course, since I made this strip that number increased to 493 with the release of Diamond and Pearl and is going to be rising even higher when Black and White are released. Completing the pokédex has become quite the accomplishment, especially considering that several pokémon can only be gotten from special events. And if it's that hard in the games, just imagine what it would be like to try and "catch 'em all" in real life. It would take a long time, that's for sure, and considering that legendary pokémon are supposed to be one of a kind... |
